JNDC work with all different types of start ups from individuals with an idea, to larger teams mid way through their journey. In fact, working with start ups is some of the most interesting and technically challenging work we undertake here at JNDC.
We have been here before
So back in 2007 JNDC was founded by Dean. 15 years later JNDC are growing and improving our services all the time. Simply going from Dean working in his loft at home to having a successful business is a start up journey in its own right.
Over the years JNDC has identified niches in the market and has internally developed concepts into prototypes; pitched the ideas to potential customers and gone right the way through to production and selling the products. As demand for the products grew, separate companies were setup and are either still running today in their own entirety or were sold.
Some of the ideas the JNDC team developed have been licenced, so instead of going though all the intricacies of setting up and running separate businesses, JNDC now simply receives royalties for the designs it develops.
And, of course…we have developed ideas that didn’t make it to market, so have learnt a lot along the way of how to…and sometimes how not to take a product to market.
How we work with startups
Quite simply we fit into a start up however we are needed. From undertaking a small discreet package of work, through to managing the complete new product development process….we can help.
Sometimes we are employed as technical advisors on a very low amount of time per month to provide top level project oversight. This works really well as it is a low cost option with the benefit of the JNDC team leading and advising the technology development.
For others, we find ourselves rolling up our sleeves and taking on the complete product development process, allowing the start up team to focus on all the other important considerations such as raising funds, pitching and running the business.
