Since JNDC was founded in 2007, we have worked on many different government projects across multiple industry sectors.  We have managed complete grant funded projects, through to offering top level consultancy to manage the overall project…and everything in between.

Quite often we get involved with the grant writing process, advising and developing the project plan, costing, risk analysis and sometimes even the submission of the application.  Getting involved early is an ideal way for JNDC to be on board, as we have a deep understanding of what the government assessors are looking for in a successful project.  As a result our conversion rate is high and, although a lot of time is spent in the preparation of the grant application, the payback is huge for our clients.

JNDC has applied for our own grants over the years, to develop new products and services, so having first hand experience of this really helps us support our clients.

How we work

We normally start with the grant application process and when the project is live we typically find ourselves managing the overall technical development process, often working with specialist grant partners in their respective scientific or technical areas of expertise.

We usually go lead on all reporting back to the monitoring officers (government auditors who check the time and money has been spent as agreed).  Having been through so many audits in the past, we know what the monitoring officers are looking for and ensure we develop a good working relationship with them from the start.  Feedback from the officers has been great, as we deliver the exact information they need, without any need for them to come back and ask for more evidence.

The very nature of R&D means things change.  We are used to change.  Dealing with change on a fixed price funded project requires communication and project management skills to report back to the monitoring officer.
