Detailed Design of Electric Folding Bicycle
Background
An innovative folding bicycle frame was developed by an individual who contacted JNDC for support in taking the first prototype design right the way through to manufacture.
Development
JNDC reviewed every part in the folding electric bike and over the 18 month project redesigned each part for specific manufacturing processes. Complexity reduction was a key focus throughout the project; keeping the bikes functionality whilst reducing manufacturing costs and consistency.
The JNDC design was tested by a specialist independent test house to check the frame met all the loading requirements as specified by European and international safety standards.
Solution
The JIVR electric folding bike was launched via a crowd funding project and is now in full scale manufacture and available on the market.
